Membership in PAHCOM will help you improve the productivity of your health care office and reach your potential as a practice manager. Joining PAHCOM is an excellent investment for you and your physician colleagues.

Medical office managers, administrators, supervisors, directors, assistants, coordinators, specialists, and consultants, with clinical and operational responsibilities, are all encouraged to join. PAHCOM maintains a special category of membership for students enrolled in at least nine credit hours of study.

Local Chapters

PAHCOM currently has 40 local chapters throughout the country. They are independent, chartered organizations that are authorized to use the name and logo of PAHCOM. Chapters conduct monthly educational programs, exchange news on local medical events, and conduct a forum for administering the PAHCOM Certified Medical Manager (CMM) examination.

Chapter of the Year

The Chapter of the Year Award is presented to the PAHCOM local chapter that accumulates the most points from a variety of goals and objectives that are delineated in the Chapter Handbook. The chapter recipient receives $1000, is honored at the Awards Banquet, and a podium banner commemorating the award.

Certified Medical Manager (CMM) Program

CMM is a highly prized credential that documents knowledge in 18 areas of medical management ranging from human resource management to facilities management. The examination contains 160 multiple choice questions and two essay questions based on case studies. Candidates are required to be PAHCOM members, have three years experience, and attain 12 college credits.

Medical Manager of the Year

This is the premier recognition of one PAHCOM member each year. The award is presented at the Conference Awards Dinner. Each nominee is evaluated on a point system that considers professional, social, educational, and technological involvement during the evaluation period. The recipient of the award receives a crystal trophy, citation, publicity, and complimentary registration, travel, and lodging for two at the next annual conference.

Scholarship Fund

The Scholarship Fund receives contributions from members, vendors, and programs that the national office has established with a variety of organizations. Members may apply of assistance in financing their educational and professional growth. Since its inception PAHCOM has provided over $100,000 in scholarship awards to its members.
